Collection: Ranunculus Corms

Ranunculus are a stunning flower grown from funny looking corms. They have the most eleganttissue paper like petals, an incredible storage life and a long vase life. Lasting up to two weeks in the cooler and having a two week vase life, they make for the ultimate cut flower getting bigger and fluffier by the day. Many people mistake them for roses.

Ranunculus bloom 90 days after planting and prefer cooler growing temperatures. In Zone 6 and up they can be planted in the fall for spring blooms. They can handle temperatures in the low 30's without protection. For zones 5 and below start indoors in the late winter and plant in a sunny spot as soon as the soil is workable. They prefer growing in cold conditions for a while. Enjoy these stunning blooms late winter-early summer. In MN they bloom in May and June, just after your spring bulbs bloom and before your dahlias take off.

This year we sourced our ranunculus from our wholesaler at Ball Seed. We were given permission to use their photos for any new to us varieties we don't have photos for yet. For each variety we ordered the biggest corm size available. We've noticed the bigger the corm size the bigger the ranunculus and the more bloom per corm! All corms are size 5-6 cm and some are size 7+ (these are massive in the ranunculus corm world a produce amazing flowers). Below you can see what to expect with the different corm sizes
