Collection: Peony Roots

Sale will launch Friday April 4th at 6pm Central time!

All listings will say SOLD OUT until then

Peonies are one of the most beautiful, loved, and cherished perennial flowers. Exceptionally hardy and reliable, they're also one of the easiest flowers to grow.  Whether your mom, grandma or neighbor grew them, every one seems to have a story about a beloved peony. I'm very excited to release a collection of 20 peonies this spring! Sourced through Ball Seed Company and selected with love and care by me. My goal is to release a collection each spring for you to add to your own yard, gift to a friend or (my personal favorite) gift to your mom. It's a gift that will give for many many many years to come.

Local Pickup will be available April 25 & 26 9am-Noon both days

Shipping Rates:

1-4  roots $12

5+ roots $17

You will receive these peonies as a "bare root" and they will start shipping the second week of April! Most varieties have 3-5 eyes unless noted that they have 2-3. The larger size (3-5 eyes) should produce a larger flower producing plant quicker! Your root will be shipped in peat moss. Store somewhere cool and dark until you can plant them out (once the ground has thawed and the danger of frost has passed.)

You should expect

Year one: Primarily focused on establishing a root system. Producing some leaves and maybe 1-2 flowers.

Year two: More stems and flowers than year one

Year three: By the third spring peonies will be a fully established plant producing and abundance of flowers.

Year four +: Peonies will continue to improve and will last for many years to come.

Planting instructions: Dig a wide shallow hole. Plant your peonies with the eyes facing up.

Cover with 1-2" of soil. Consider filling in with compost if your soil is low in nutrients. Planting too deep will result in your plants not blooming. Water plant thoroughly. In the fall cover with 2-3" of mulch to aid in protecting the roots during the cold winter months.
